It’s my fifth capsule wardrobe you guys! FIFTH.
Where has time gone??
But while I did end up selling quite a bit of last summer’s clothing, a lot of it has been re-purposed into my other capsules.
Here’s the thing, I’m going to be completely candid with you for a second: If I knew then what I know now about ethical fashion I probably wouldn’t have gotten rid of as much as I did.
But as the very wise Stephen Colbert says, “It’s our choice, whether to hate something in our lives or to love every moment of them, even the parts that bring us pain.”
Yeah? So good. I’m holding on to that for more than just my capsule wardrobes.
So after a year of capsuling I’m at a place where I am confident that I will be living with my current wardrobe for a very long time… and that makes me pretty darn happy.
Some specifics about this summer capsule:
I knew going into this capsule that I wanted a lot less to deal with and I wanted it to be pretty casual.
This summer is going to bring with it a lot of hard work and changes as we’ll be moving in August (if all goes according to plan). Because of that I wanted to have fewer, more practical clothing choices.
In other words, I wanted this capsule to work for me and not against me.
This capsule is also a mix of really old and some newer choices… which is kind of my vibe in general. So I have some vintage pieces mixed in with some great, new ethical options.
Okay that’s it! I’ve got all the details listed below for you guys in case you’re interested. What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

*Disclaimer: My clothing is mostly thrifted/many seasons old. In light of that, I tried to find clothing to link to that was as similar as possible. For some items I simply couldn’t find an ethical fashion item that was a close enough match, so I matched something that I thought had a similar vibe.
