Hi there! My name is Karin and I’m wife to David, mother to Kit, Ella, and Rosie and dog mommy to Oscar. I’m passionate about being a mother, philosophical discussions, literature, the outdoors, and finding ways to simplify our home.
My HIGHEST, and most satisfying, calling is being a mother, but I don’t believe it’s my only calling.
As a mama it’s easy to lose yourself in the daily struggle of raising children, and that’s why I started Truncation… I felt a need to pour into something that wasn’t my children so that I could maintain an identity that wasn’t just mama.
I love sharing bits of motherhood with you, but I also love sharing the parts of my being that long to champion the poor and bring light to dark places.
My desire is to show you that we as mamas have such a powerful opportunity to raise up our youngins’ to care about the world around them and the people that inhabit it. I think it is the generation that will come behind us that will bring change to a broken and harmful system and I feel honored that I have the opportunity to raise up part of that generation.
Which leads me to why I called my blog Truncation:
Well the definition of truncation is to shorten or reduce.
And I think one of the most broken and harmful systems on our planet is the world of fast fashion and unethically produced goods.
And while you’re at it, learn to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
So now that you’re here, why don’t you join me?
Until next time,
